Broker Account Representative

Department: Employer Services     Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Provide administrative support and customer service to assigned Broker/Brokerage and UHA employer groups to ensure client satisfaction and retention

Act as Liaison between UHA and assigned Brokers and Employer Groups to increase business development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Knowledge

  • Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
  • Able to use acquired knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
  • Able to calculate discounts extensions, additions, ratios and allocations
  • Able to work as a contributing team member towards achieving the stated goals of management

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • High School degree required; Associate degree preferred

Experience

Claim Processor I

Department: Claim Services Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • Responsible for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) validation of scanned claims.
  • Process for payment all assigned EDI (electronic data interchange) and/or outsourced claims, which includes but is not limited to medical and vision claims submitted by rendering providers, facility inpatient, outpatient hospital and Direct Member Reimbursement prescription drugs to meet the departments established performance standards, State of Hawaii Revised Statutes claims turnaround and departments payment accuracy.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
  • Able to interpret group benefit plan coverage
  • Must understand medical terminology, medical billing, and medical coding
  • Able to analyze and calculate Coordination of Benefits information
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the medical claims and drug claims processing software applications
  • Able to work as a contributing team member towards achieving management’s stated goals
  • Able to use ten key and typewriter by touch with a minimum of 10,000 keystrokes per hour

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • High School diploma or Business or Trade School
  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder) preferred but not required

Experience

  • One year of work experience in an office setting, preferably associated within the healthcare industry
  • Understanding of medical billing, medical terminology, and/or medical coding preferred ex. Familiarity with CMS 1500, UB04, EDI CMS 1500, EDI UB04 and DMR

    • If unable to acquire Health Insurance Producer License at the end of three month period, employment with UHA will be terminated

Experience

  • Five years of recent applicable sales experience
  • Healthcare, human resources, or teaching experience a plus

Enrollment Representative I

Department: Employer Services Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

  • Primary purpose is to enter, process and update enrollments, changes and terminations with accuracy
  • Assure quality control within setup of member transactions and assist with system testing and compiling of documentation for research
  • Answer incoming calls regarding eligibility

Provider Contract Administrator

Contracting Services Procurement Liaison

Department: Contracting Services       Work: Full-Time

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Administer and execute all UHA Provider and corporate contracts. Develop and maintain strong relationships with contracted Providers/vendors, as well as with key associates within UHA to ensure a seamless process from contract implementation to claims processing. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to use acquired skills & knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
  • Proficient in creating Excel spreadsheets

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Able to remain calm under pressure
  • Able to read and interpret provider contracts.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills 

Education/Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university/college 
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in healthcare sector or contracting required
  • Prior experience in provider contracts and reimbursement preferred
