Honolulu, HI (May 12, 2026) – UHA Health Insurance has announced the appointment of Jan Kaeo as senior vice president and chief sales officer.

In this position, Kaeo will lead UHA’s enterprise-wide growth strategy, focusing on new business development, broker partnerships and customer retention. She joins the executive team at a pivotal moment for the organization, as UHA marks its 30th year serving Hawai‘i.

“Jan is a builder who has spent her career helping organizations grow by aligning people, performance and culture,” said Darren Nakao, chief operating officer of UHA Health Insurance. “As we continue to grow and serve employers of all sizes, Jan brings the leadership, discipline and relationships that strengthen our ability to develop new business while staying true to UHA’s values. She understands the importance of building growth the right way – through trust, strong broker partnerships and a deep commitment to service.”

Kaeo most recently served as president and CEO of Dale Carnegie Training Hawai‘i and Guam, where she transformed the organization into one of the top-performing franchises in North America – more than doubling its scale through disciplined sales strategy, strong client relationships and a focus on developing high-performing teams.

Pacific Business News honored Kaeo with a “Women Who Mean Business” award in 2026 and “Business Leader of the Year – Small Business” in 2020, given her deep relationships with employers, brokers and community leaders across the islands. She is widely recognized across Hawai‘i’s business community for her ability to connect organizations with people, develop leadership capability and build cultures of accountability where teams consistently perform at a high level.

As a strategic client-partner, Kaeo worked closely with UHA’s sales organization in recent years helping strengthen the team while reinforcing leadership and service across the organization.

A Honolulu resident and graduate of Maryknoll High School, Kaeo earned simultaneous undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Kaeo is an active and dedicated community advocate, recognized as a champion for local businesses, who currently serves as vice president of the Honolulu Executive Association and on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Air Forces Civilian Advisory Council. She has also served on the Boards of Directors for SECOH (Special Education Center of Hawai‘i), The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division, the Hawai‘i Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and the YMCA Central Branch.
