Regarding Adventist Health Castle Physician and Clinic Status as a UHA Participating Provider
Aloha,
Ensuring that you and other UHA members have access to the care you need is one of UHA’s top priorities.
Adventist Health Castle hospital, clinics and physicians (Adventist) have been part of the UHA participating provider network for almost three decades, and UHA continues to treat Adventist as a participating provider. Consistent with our notice and continuity-of-care obligations under federal and state law, we want our members to be informed of recent Adventist developments.
Adventist is sharing information, both on its website and to its staff, that the clinics and affiliated physicians do not participate with UHA, and that only the hospital participates with UHA.
UHA’s perspective is that we have a current participating provider contract with Adventist. As a result, UHA is operating under the current contract terms, which places all of its entities – the hospital, clinics and physicians – within UHA’s participating provider network.
UHA has never received a formal termination notice from Adventist clinics and physicians. Until and unless that occurs, UHA treats all of the Adventist providers as UHA participating providers. As it has done for nearly three decades, Adventist continues to bill and submit claims to UHA for care provided to our members, which we continue to pay directly to Adventist in accordance with the participating provider contract, and which Adventist continues to accept.
We are committed to our members and are here to help you meet your care needs. If you are being affected by this situation, please call UHA Customer Services at (808) 532-4000 or (800) 458-4600 toll-free.
We only ask Adventist to work in the best interests of our members and the community. Mahalo for your understanding.
