Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Mandatory for Online Provider Services Starting Sept. 8

in Important Notices , Providers by UHA Health Insurance

At UHA Health Insurance, protecting patient data and keeping your provider portal secure is a top priority. To ensure the highest level of account security and align with industry best practices, we are introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all UHA Online Provider Services accounts starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Why We’re Making This Update

    • Enhanced Protection: MFA helps safeguard your account against unauthorized access and credential misuse.
    • Industry Best Practice: Cyberthreats in healthcare continue to grow; MFA provides a proven, proactive layer of defense.

How to Prepare Before Tuesday, September 8

Because MFA passcodes are sent individually via email, each staff member must use a unique account with an active, dedicated email address.

    1. Verify Your Registered Email: Log into your UHA Online Provider Services account and confirm your email address when prompted.
        • Is my email correct? Yes = Done. Skip to step 3.
        • Is my email correct? No = Submit form, see steps below.
    1. Update or Register (If needed): If your email is incorrect or a staff member needs a separate account, submit the UHA Online Provider Services – User Registration form. Please allow up to 3 business days for updates.
    1. Whitelist Our Email: Add [email protected] to your email safe senders list so authentication emails aren’t flagged as spam. View our FAQ for instructions.

What to Expect Starting Tuesday, September 8

When signing in on or after September 8, you will follow a simple 2-step sign-in process:

    1. Enter Credentials: Input your registered username and password.
    1. Retrieve & Enter Passcode: A 6-digit one-time passcode will be emailed to your registered address. Simply enter this code on the portal screen within 10 minutes to complete sign-in. (Alternatively, you may click the direct verification link in the email).

Need to Register for an Online Provider Services Account?

If you or your staff do not currently have an Online Provider Services account, please request one as soon as possible, as processing and identity verification takes approximately 15 business days.

    1. Visit our Online Provider Registration Page.
    1. Complete and submit the Online Provider Services Agreement Form.
    1. Once processed, login credentials and instructions will be sent directly to the designated user’s email.
