UHA EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM

(HONOLULU, May 20, 2009) -- Hawaii health insurer, UHA, has expanded its Executive Team by adding Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer Lisa Hendrickson M.D., Senior Vice President & Chief Sales Officer Lance Kaneshiro, and Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer Emily Weaver.

Hendrickson oversees the Health Care Services Department as well as the Provider Services Department.  As part of her responsibilities she oversees all medical reviews and health care decision-making for UHA. 
Hendrickson joined the company in August 2008 as a Medical Director.  She graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Biology, and received her MD from Vanderbilt Medical School.  She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is married with three daughters.

Kaneshiro provides leadership in developing and executing UHA’s overall business development strategy. 
Kaneshiro joined the company in July 1999 as an Account Executive and is a graduate of the University of Hawaii. 

Weaver provides leadership in developing and executing human resources programs included in the UHA business plan.  Weaver joined the company in December 1996 as the Human Resources Coordinator.  She attended the University of Oregon, and has a master of Business Administration from Chaminade University. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), and has a daughter.

Founded in 1996 by a group of physician teachers at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine, UHA provides medical, drug, and vision plans to Hawaii employer groups.
