UHA's COO Earns National Health Care Executive Designation
(HONOLULU: JULY 6, 2006) — UHA's Chief Operating Officer, Howard K. F. Lee, has been awarded recognition as a Certified Managed Care Executive from America's Health Insurance Plans, the association representing health plans nationwide.
Lee earned the designation after successfully completing AHIP's 2005-2006 Executive Leadership Program this month. He was among 25 senior health plan insurance executives from across the nation selected as a Program Fellow in a competitive process emphasizing leadership, commitment to professional growth, and professional achievement. Lee and his colleagues were honored at a ceremony in San Diego, California on June 6.
The Executive Leadership Program was established in 1991 to develop new generations of leadership in the health insurance industry. The one-year program combines academic, mentoring, and experiential components. Academic sessions included work at the Northwestern University renown Kellogg School of Management and at AHIP's National Policy Forum in Washington, D.C. Each student is also paired with an experienced executive from another health plan for site visits, evaluations and individualized interaction through the program year.
