Chief Medical Officer
General Description of PositionThe Chief Medical Officer (CMO), under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for assuring that UHA members have access to quality health care services and that these services are provided appropriately and cost-effectively in accordance with UHA's Mission, Vision and Values, and Healthcare Improvement Plan. The CMO leads the Health Care Services department and also fulfills the statutory requirements of a medical director.
Minimum Qualifications- SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
- Able to use acquired knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
- Requires expert knowledge of health insurance industry terminology
- Management skills—the individual includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; makes self available to staff; provides regular performance feedback; and develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth
- Planning/organizing—the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans
- Quality management—the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner
- Project Management—the individual must initiate, plan, execute, control and complete projects on time remaining within the deadline, budget and scope/quality constraints
- The individual must successfully manage the Human Resource Management needs of the department
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
- MD Degree and board certified
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Hawaii
- Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance in accordance to UHA required minimums
- Post Graduate Degree in Clinical Epidemiology or Health Care Administration preferred
- EXPERIENCE
- Five (5) years post-graduate experience in direct patient care
- Five (5) years of experience performing clinical oversight
- Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Director is preferred

Data and Business Analyst
General Description of PositionManage data and develop, design, and generate reports to support, manage and improve UHA Health Care Services department operations in accordance with the quality-driven, evidence-based UHA Health Care Performance Improvement Program
Minimum Qualifications- SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Able to navigate through internal and external computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel, and have proficient PC keyboarding skills
- Able to use acquired knowledge and willingness to learn new skills
- Expert Microsoft Access and Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
- Able to skillfully analyze and interpret data and reports
- QNXT system exposure or experience with other health insurance claims systems that includes knowledge of standard health plan coding and terminology
- EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
- Post-graduate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Statistics, Biostatistics, Informatics, or equivalent degree
- EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) years experience managing and working with large data sets, building databases, querying, generating reports and analyzing health plan data, statistics, costs, trends, and metrics
- Three (3) or more years database reporting tools skills with strong data extraction skills and extensive reporting experience
- Three (3) years of health plan experience and familiarity with claims, authorizations, providers, and membership data
- Demonstrated experience creating user-friendly reports and the ability to explain complex data findings in an easily understandable manner
- Experience developing and writing business requirements for process improvement initiatives
- QNXT exposure or other health insurance claims system experience
- SQL and/or Crystal Reports skills preferred
